If Only...
Beginning Sunday, January 13, 2013

2012 is over. As we look back on a year or on our lives we may be tempted to fall into the "if only" trap...

...if only I had taken that job
...if only I hadn't been unfaithful to my spouse
...if only I hadn't gotten into so much debt
...if only I had spent more time with God and less time on TV
...if only... ______________________________

...if only... ______________________________
...if only... ______________________________

You fill in the blank. Our regrets can smother us. they may be able to teach us something, but we then must let them go.

God's Word clearly tells us that it's NEVER too late to choose something better...choose the best for your life...choose God's heart and will over our own human desires and temptations.

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret...(2 Corinthians 7:10 NIV)

If you are experiencing Godly sorrow as you regret things in your past...you can rejoice! Yes, you can rejoice! Because salvation, new life, a fresh start, a new year is here and regret is gone!

Our God has the power to do that in your life!

Join us beginning January 13th!

The Christmas List

Beginning Sunday, December 2 at 10:30 a.m.

At Christmas, among the many habits we observe, one is to make a list. Sometimes many lists, right?

We make a list of gifts to buy, gifts we hope to get, lists of family and friends to send cards to, lists of events to attend, lists of food to buy, lists of decorations we need...lists...lists...lists!

Maybe this year we can pause...and make a list that might change our life, or the life of someone else. A list straight from the heart of God to us and from us to others.

What if our list included things like:
- Focused time with our spouse or family
- Humility and Forgiveness to those who've wronged us
- Empathy and Encouragement to those who need it
- Mercy to those who have less than us
- Eternal Life through Jesus to those who are seeking

These are life changing gifts! Given to us by God and now available for us to give to others!

Make your list...check it twice...and join us this Christmas season

In God We Trust

Beginning Sunday, November 4th - 10:30 a.m.
Mooresville Church of God

On every dollar and coin we carry with us it says, "In God We Trust". On our money it says this.

Do you ever find this ironic or odd? That of all the articles and items we use and need everyday, the one that speaks about our trust in God is...our money.

God has a lot to say about our money. He wants us to trust Him to know how we can best use it. However, this is not an easy task for us, is it?

In this series we will look at some ways that we can trust God with our money...be godly stewards of what He has given us. Here is how the series will flow...

Week 1 - What has God entrusted to us?
Week 2 - Trusting God by Being Gracious
Week 3 - Trusting God by Being Obedient
Week 4 - Trusting God by Being Generous

If there is one area of our American lives that we often don't allow God to tell us what to do...it's with our money. Will you let God speak to you on this subject?

Join us this Sunday and find out.

Forgotten God: Rediscovering the Holy Spirit

Many people around the world who believe in the Judeo-Christian God have some awareness of the Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of God.

Most followers of Jesus know that the New Testament says quite a bit about the Holy Spirit.

It seems many believers are comfortable talking about God and about following Jesus, but they become a little less confident and comfortable when asked about the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Why is this?

We love and are in awe of God the Father. We are so grateful to and willing to give our lives to Jesus. But the Holy Spirit? Who is He...really? What does He want from me? What role should He play in my life?

Our God is a Holy Trinity. 1 God expressed in 3 persons:
- The Father
- The Son
- The Holy Spirit

Can we really know and follow God...know and follow Jesus...without knowing and following the Holy Spirit?

Join us at Mooresville Church of God on Sunday, October 7 as we begin a 4 week rediscovery of the Holy Spirit!

INDESCRIBABLE

What can be said about our God that would adequately describe His Glory? What words can we use?

He is INDESCRIBABLE! His Glory is over all of creation!

As Psalm 8 proclaims...

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Join us over the next 4 weeks as we encounter the Glory of God in...

...the universe
...the earth
...humanity
...Jesus!

CHOOSING THE MOST EXCELLENT WAY

CHOOSING THE MOST EXCELLENT WAY...

As the Apostle Paul begins what Christians have come to call "The Love Chapter" of his letter to the Church in Corinth, he says these words..."And now I will show you the most excellent way."

He then ends that chapter with these words, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

This is the most excellent way! Faith, Hope, Love!

Join us as we choose to walk in that way!
